      What does "H2O" stand for?
"H2O" is the chemical symbol for water (2 hydrogen atoms bonded to an oxygen atom).  To know why we named our church H2O check out John 4:9-14.  We believe that through Jesus we can be transformed and made sinless in the eyes of God and thus be allowed to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.  Just as the physical body needs water to survive, we believe that our spirit needs water to survive, and Jesus is the only one that can provide that.  Click here to learn more about our beliefs.

      Who can come?
The short answer- anyone!  H2O is a place where anyone can come to learn about and experience Jesus.  Whether you've been in the church a long time or you stepped away for a while and are looking to come back or you have no religous background at all, everyone is welcome.  H2O is meant to be a safe place for anyone with any view to come and see God's power at work.  H2O is targeted, however, to best suit the needs of University of Michigan students.  Thus, our schedule is optimized to work with students and around University events (there won't be anything happening during exams or football Saturdays... we want to study and go to the games just like everyone else!).

Where and when do you meet?

We meet every Sunday in the Michigan Union at 11:11 am (see the map below).

On rare occassions we are forced to meet elsewhere - e.g. the Michigan League - because of scheduling conflicts. Please see our Calendar for specific details for any given Sunday.

Are you associated with a specific Christian denomination?

We are affiliated with the Assemblies of God (you can find out some more about their theology here) as an official Chi Alpha Campus Ministry.  We welcome anyone that wishes to come to our services, regardless of their beliefs.  To find out more about our church's theology, please visit our Beliefs section for more specific details.

I want to come but what should I wear?

We are a casual church that reflects the U of M campus community, so dress comfortably and casually. We are a "come as you are" church, so feel free to dress just as you would Monday - Friday.

Do you meet up with students during the week?

We're so glad you asked, because our student group was recently blessed with an office in the Union for the 2009-2010 season and we plan to make full use of it. We would be more than willing to meet with you to answer any questions you might have, or even for a bible study!

Do you have any small group Bible studies?

As it happens, we do indeed. We call them "Fusion Cells" and they meet weekly in various locales around campus. Check out the Fusion page for more info.
