H2O Church is back (in the Anderson Room) and rested and we hope you all had a great Christmas break as well. We're kicking off the winter semester with an H2O tradition - skiing, snowboarding, and have a great weeking of fellowship up in Traverse City over the MLK holiday weekend. This event is open to anyone, so bring your friends. And we'll be back Sunday afternoon to give you plenty of time to get your coursework done for Tuesday!

WHEN: Friday, January 15th - Sunday, Jan 17th

WHERE: Timber Lodge Estate: ~20 minutes from downtown Traverse City. We will be staying in a wing of the glorious 7,000 sq ft estate. Complete with fireplace, kitchen, library, den with jukebox, and basement with big-screen TV.

COST: $25 (including lodging, gift for host, 3 meals and snacks)

WHAT: Friday - arrive, eat snacks, play mafia or other games

Saturday - skiiers and snowboarders will depart in the morning for Crystal Mountain. The rest of us can sleep in, hang out and go on an excursion about town. When the skiiers return we will have dinner together followed by games and other shenanigans to be sure.

Sunday - a big breakfast followed by a mini-service and worship time. Then we clean-up and head home arriving back in mid-afternoon.

RSVP: If you haven't already signed-up you can still come! We will be carpooling up on Friday and we just need to know if you are coming! Please let us know ASAP by contacting Abby Wheeler (aewheel at umich dot edu).

Hope to see you there! If the past is any guide, it's sure to be loads of fun!

H2O is having a free bowling night!  Why?  Because, who doesn't like bowling?

We're going to meet at the University Lutheran Chapel (ULC) at 8:00 for a free concert.  Then we're going to leave for bowling at 9:00.  We're going to have the lanes for 2 hours.  So, the faster you bowl the more you get to play.  Of course, what would bowling be without pizza and pop?  So, we're going to give ya'all some free food too (again, who doesn't love free food?).

Returning H2O members get the discounted price of $10 for everything while new people get the SUPER discounted price of $0.

Don't know where the ULC is, check out the map below.

H2O Open Mic Night at Sava's

      Quick hits:
      What: H2O Open Mic Night
Where: Sava's (see below for directions)
      When: 8:30-11:00 tonight (9-11-09)
      Cost: Free to listen

H2O is going to be hosting an open mic night at Sava's!  What does this mean to you, the interested student looking for something fun to do?  Well, it means that you now have a great excuse to walk up State street to one of the best of Ann Arbor's little known restaurants to enjoy a meal.  It also means that when you come, you'll get to hear some great music from some of our worship team, probably some poetry from Jason, and maybe even a preview of the M-ND game from diehard Michigan fan Dave (if you've always wondered what the difference between a 4-3 and a 3-4 is and what Michigan runs, then stop by and learn).

And if YOU want to come up and rock the mic in some way you can.

All that while enjoying the good company of H2O and the good food of Sava's.  Some come on by for food and great company.

The fun starts at 8:30 and goes until about 11:00.

Not sure where Sava's is?  Still can't remember which street is State and which is South U.?  Well, here's a map for your convenience.

Hopefully you were there, but if you weren't that's fine.  You can still feel free to stop by our weekly Sunday Service in the Pendelton room of the Union at 11:11.
